Wizards of the Coast Announces Future Lineup at Gen Con

Wizards of the Coast brought a massive lineup to Gen Con this year.

The Hasbro subsidiary gave Magic: The Gathering fans multiple updates at the Indianapolis gaming institute this year, including news well-nigh collaborations, new games, returning favorites, and increasingly as the trading vellum game celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Magic has evolved in numerous ways in the last 30 years,” says Bill Rose, Global Play Lead for Magic: The Gathering at Wizards of the Coast. “Our designers protract to create new and thematic mechanics, weve well-timed the game to support fan-created formats of play, and we protract to welcome new players into the Magic polity through our Universes Beyond collaborations. As we squint to the future, one of our guiding principles is to protract to curate new and memorable gameplay experiences, whether youve been playing Magic for a couple of months, years, decades, or anything in between.

Wizards discussed its last four releases for this year: Wilds of Eldraine, a new storybook setting for a multi-year arc; Magic: The Gathering – Doctor Who, which features four commander decks spanning 60 years; The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, a collaboration based on the setting and notation of the six Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies; and a new Secret Lair commander deck: Angels: Theyre Just Like Us but Cooler and with Wings, which goes on sale starting Aug. 10 for a limited run.

The visitor is moreover releasing three new takes on the Ravnica plane, which was first released in 2005. Ravnica Remastered features updated art and fan-favorite features and Ravnica: Clue Edition is a standalone game that combines mystery solving with fantastical adventures. Murders at Karlov Manor moreover dives into mystery with puzzles, secret identities, clues, and more.

Other upcoming releases include Fallout-themed commander decks; a western fantasy tabbed Outlaws of Thunder Junction; a comprehensive Assassins Creed set featuring all the Assassins Creed games; Modern Horizons 3; a cozy fantasy quest featuring anthropomorphic animals tabbed Bloomburrow; Duskmourn: House of Horror, which is inspired by 80s horror movies; Innistrad Remastered; and a Final Fantasy tentpole booster that can moreover be played online.

Wizards moreover hinted at a lineup of games that are remoter on the horizon for 2025 and 2026. These releases, which currently dont have official names, include sequels, expansions, and new Magic: The Gathering games.
